March 26, 2026 | Northeast Indiana – Brightpoint is urging households in need of help with heating costs to apply now for the Energy Assistance Program (EAP). With the April 20 application deadline approaching and funds still available, Brightpoint aims to ensure every eligible household is aware of the support available.
EAP provides a one‑time annual benefit to help income‑eligible residents manage high winter utility bills. Brightpoint is only seeking applicants who have not applied during this heating season, which began September 1, 2025. The program serves households in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley counties.

Applicants should be prepared to provide proof of income and recent utility bills. Households facing disconnection are encouraged to apply immediately.
NIPSCO customers with incomes up to 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may also qualify for the NIPSCO Hardship program by submitting an EAP application.
