July 17, 2025|Fort Wayne, IN – Twenty-two local nonprofit programs that assist with shelter, basic needs, employment skills, and youth development were recently awarded funding from the City of Fort Wayne’s federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). Brightpoint was among the recipients, receiving funding for three of its programs.
The funding will bolster Brightpoint’s efforts to provide critical services to individuals and families facing housing insecurity and barriers to healthcare through Coordinated Entry, Health Coverage Assistance, and Rapid Rehousing programs.
Coordinated Entry connects people in crisis to housing programs that can quickly end their homelessness. As the lead agency for our region, Brightpoint oversees the assessment process, ensuring the most vulnerable individuals access limited housing resources—whether through Brightpoint or partner agencies. Rapid Rehousing is one of several Brightpoint programs that helps find stable housing for participants.
Through its Health Coverage Assistance program, Brightpoint’s certified Indiana Navigators help individuals and families understand and enroll in state and federal health insurance programs including Hoosier Healthwise, the Healthy Indiana Plan, and the Health Insurance Marketplace.
