Stability changes everything — not all at once, but step by step. Grayce Holloway’s story is one example of what that can look like.
As a teenager, Grayce was connected to Brightpoint during her first pregnancy. With guidance and support, she accessed health coverage, nutrition assistance, and child care—the kinds of steady supports that help families find their footing during critical moments.
Those early building blocks mattered. They allowed Grayce to focus on her family, plan for the future, and eventually move forward without assistance as her circumstances changed.
Years later, life brought unexpected heartbreak. After losing one of her twin sons, Grayce faced deep grief and postpartum depression. In the midst of that season, she rediscovered a skill she had grown up around—baking—and found healing in the act of creating something with her hands.
That spark became Icing for Izaac, a business born from love, loss, and resilience.
As her business grew, Grayce once again partnered with Brightpoint — this time as an entrepreneur. Through a small business loan from the Brightpoint Development Fund, she was able to renovate a space, purchase equipment, and open a storefront in Fort Wayne. Later, when cashflow challenges surfaced, Brightpoint worked with her again to help stabilize and strengthen the business.
Today, Icing for Izaac employs local staff, serving families and celebrations across our community, and standing as a testament to what’s possible when people have access to the right support at the right time.
Grayce’s journey reminds us that stability isn’t a single moment. It’s a foundation—one that allows people to weather hardship, pursue opportunity, and contribute back to the community they call home.
That’s the work Brightpoint does every day: partnering with businesses, families, and individuals to remove barriers, build stability, and strengthen our community for the long term.
Because when families rise, Communities Rise with them.
