In September 2023, Sierra Barker came to Brightpoint determined to improve her financial situation. Having recently separated from her child\u2019s father, she was unsure how she would manage expenses on her own. A fellow church member recommended Brightpoint, sharing their own positive experience working with Personal Financial Foundations Specialist Mindy Crupe.<\/p>\n

Sierra enrolled in Brightpoint\u2019s Personal Financial Foundations course, which covers budgeting, credit, and banking over four sessions. She also took advantage of one-on-one coaching, where she and Mindy developed a personalized financial plan tailored to her needs.<\/p>\n

One of the most impactful lessons for Sierra was learning to save 10% of each paycheck. Using an \u201cout-of-sight, out-of-mind\u201d approach, she steadily built a savings account that has grown exponentially. At just 23 years old, Sierra now has a strong financial cushion and is planning to buy a home for herself and her daughter.<\/p>\n

But Sierra\u2019s journey with Brightpoint didn\u2019t stop at financial stability. She describes Mindy as a mentor and a trusted advisor. \u201cMindy helps me in every aspect of my life,\u201d Sierra says.<\/p>\n

Sierra is currently completing coursework to become a mortgage loan officer and is scheduled to take her licensing exam in September. She also plans to pursue a real estate license and dreams of running her own business. With Brightpoint\u2019s support, Sierra is confidently working toward the goals she set nearly two years ago\u2014and inspiring others along the way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
